Central Vacuum Systems in the Aerospace Industry: We Support your Production Processes

To guarantee the correct operation of automatic drilling units, the chips that are generated must be continuously removed by a suction system on the machine. NEU has supplied many production sites specialised in aerospace engineering with machine-mounted suction units, completed with centralised ventilation systems.

An automatic drilling machine (with automatic feed) is an alternative tool to a hand drill or (high-speed) milling unit in the aerospace sector. This tool is used to assemble aerospace sub-assemblies or parts such as the wings or fuselage.

Central dust extraction
To guarantee precision milling, the generated chips must be continuously removed by a suction system on the machine. The aerospace company can opt to install a centralised vacuum cleaning system to extract waste from stations equipped with automatic drilling devices.

Exhaust ventilation and lubrication systems prevent machines from overheating during consecutive high-speed machining tasks.

The industrial centralised vacuum cleaning system is composed of a vacuum-producing unit, a dust collector (for the dust filtration function) and a network of ducts which collects the waste extracted from each drilling unit.

ATEX conformity
The centralised vacuum cleaning system is subject to ATEX constraints according to the type of dust extracted such as titanium, aluminium or carbon — materials commonly used in the aerospace sector.
